RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne.

Lady Gaga's infamous meat dress goes on display today at Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's part of a Women Who Rock exhibit. The dress is made from layers of Argentine beef. After Lady Gaga wore it at an awards ceremony, it was preserved in a meat locker, treated with chemicals and dried out by taxidermists. When the dress arrived at the Hall of Fame, it looked more like beef jerky, so they painted it for that fresh-from-the-butcher look.

It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
