STEVE INSKEEP, Host:

Yesterday, we told you of a stuffed and mounted bear that disappeared from a California bar. This bear was more active. In Forest Falls, California, 12-year-old Kara Jackson walked into the kitchen and found a bear that had wandered inside. Home alone and lacking a weapon, Ms. Jackson clapped as loudly as she could and scared off that bear. Fathers everywhere will be touched to know that she next went upstairs and called her dad.
