This weekend will be a (BANG!) (ZOOM!) (POW!) good time as Denver Comic Con rolls into town.

The three-day convention dedicated to all things geek will include panel discussions, cosplay galore, an artists’ alley, vendors, gaming areas and, of course, celebrities. Guest panelists include Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Game of Thrones' Lena Headey, and Marvel Comics genius Stan Lee.

Denver Comic Con, June 17-19, 2016, Colorado Convention Center. $38-$44 (Saturday and three-day passes are sold out)

You could also travel back in time for the 1940s World War II Era Ball Saturday at the Boulder Airport. This is a chance to dress up in period costumes, dance to classic big band music and check out classic vehicles and planes from the era. It’s also a benefit to raise money for the Wounded Warriors project.

1940s World War II Era Ball, 5 p.m. June 18, 2016, Boulder Airport. $55.

Come Monday, take the day off and play hooky with a screening of the ‘80s classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Since it’s part of the Film on the Rocks series, there’ll also be a kick off concert featuring Denver bands Strawberry Runners and The Baltic.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, June 20, 2016, Red Rocks Amphitheatre. $15.
