Greenhouse Scholars provides comprehensive personal and financial support to high-performing, under-resourced college students. Its unique “Whole Person” approach offers intellectual, academic, professional, and financial support, in order to cultivate the next generation of community leaders.

Greenhouse Scholars was formed in 2004, focusing on a significant unmet need for students in higher education. Research found that only 11% of low-income, first generation students had earned bachelors degrees within six years. By helping promising young students achieve their full potential, they could create solutions for pressing social problems and become the community leaders of the future.

Since its official launch in 2005, Greenhouse Scholars has supported dozens of Colorado students, and has become an accelerating force for education, community and leadership. The organization has been so successful, that they’ve begun to expand beyond Colorado. The most recent class includes scholars from Illinois and Georgia in addition to Colorado.

Opportunities are available for volunteers to become mentors, professional contacts, or to help select future classes of scholars.
