Matt Bloom

On this week's Colorado Edition, we take a look at some drama in the Colorado River Basin, in the state Capitol and on the dance floor.

Matt Bloom tells us about a studio in Northern Colorado where military veterans and others are finding comfort in an unlikely setting: on the dance floor.

We also have a dramatic reenactment of an increasingly tense situation over Colorado River water and conservation, courtesy of KUNC's water reporter Luke Runyon and Bret Jaspers of KJZZ in Phoenix.

Stephanie Daniel brings us the story of how Americorps is educating Coloradans on the ever worsening opioid crisis.

At the state Capitol, lawmakers hope a new bill can clarify how colleges and universities address the problem of sexual assault on campus. It was crafted with bipartisan support, but as Bente Birkeland reports, some in the GOP say they have concerns.

Finally, KUNC film critic Howie Movshovitz has some advice for an aspiring documentarian: Making a good documentary takes more than pointing a camera and capturing the moment.

Music this week:

  • "Remember Me" by Kalatana
  • "Simple Hop" by Broke For Free
  • "Early Breath" by Cellophane Same
  • "chill Funk" by Cambo
  • "Belview" by C Scott
