At midnight on May 1st, same-sex couples could enter into a Civil Union in Colorado. Many couples were in line waiting for the clock to strike midnight.

In Denver, ceremonies for same-sex couples were held from midnight until 2 a.m. in the atrium of the Wellington E. Webb Municipal building at 201 W. Colfax Ave. Here's a look at what happened for the first Civil Union in Denver, Fran and Anna Simon.
