Office Depot Agrees to Settlement with Colorado Agencies

The Colorado Attorney General’s office announced a settlement with Office Depot that will reimburse Colorado companies for over-billing.

115 Colorado governmental and nonprofit agencies paid more for office supplies than they should have been.

“We went back and looked through the charges as well as the contracts the entities had signed. Essentially, the customers, these non-profits and government agencies were placed on a higher-priced plan either without their knowledge or without complete information about the cost difference between the plans available to them,” says Attorney General Spokesman, Mike Saccone.

Under the agreement, Office Depot will refund those Colorado customers up to $189,000.  Office Depot has denied any wrongdoing and Attorney General John Suthers says the company cooperated with the yearlong investigation.
