The Pinker Tones are the brainchild of Salvador Rey and Alex Llovet, perhaps better known by their stage names Mister Furia and Professor Manso. Since 2001, Furia, Manso and friends have wowed audiences worldwide with their infectiously catchy, multi-lingual electro-pop. The Spanish group's magpie sound combines elements of funk, soul, bossa, breakbeat, lounge and psychedelia with playful lyrics and an upbeat attitude.

Over the past 10 years, The Pinker Tones have recorded six albums and numerous remixes in "Pinkerland," their rooftop studio in the heart of Barcelona, and toured relentlessly, performing hundreds of shows in countries around the world.

Their accomplishments include Top 10 albums on iTunes and eMusic, hit videos on MTV Europe, MTVu and Myspace, a well-received 2007 appearance on KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic, a spot on the 2008 Warped Tour, and Spain's 2009 Premios de la Musica award for Best Electronic Song. You might also recognize their songs from the hit sitcom Ugly Betty or the soundtracks of several sports games for the Xbox 360.

The Pinker Tones recently took a break from their summer tour of the U.S. to play live and discuss how they first met on the latest edition of World Café.
