Wilma Cozart-Fine Talks About Landmark Recordings

Liane Hansen talks with Wilma Cozart-Fine, producer of the Mercury Records "Living Presence" classical music series. Cozart-Fine produced the first stereo recording of Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture," which brings together the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, authentic cannon and bells on one album. It was recently reissued on compact disc (Mercury 434 360-2). Wilma Cozart-Fine received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Cannes Classical Awards last month for her work as producer of the "Living Presence" series in the 1950 and '60s.
