Coronavirus: The Olympics Take A Time Out

On Tuesday, the International Olympic Committee and the Japanese government announced their decision to postpone the 2020 Summer Olympics, set to take place in Tokyo.

The Olympics have never before been postponed. They have been cancelled  three times, due to war. But this time, it’s a virus.

Where does that leave the people of Tokyo,  who were hoping for an economic boost? The athletes who train their whole lives for this moment? What is the mental price tag on a dream deferred?

The Associated Press’ Stephen Wade and USA Track and Field sprinter and Olympic gold medalist Natasha Hastings talk with us about the postponement of the games and what happens next.
