Good morning.
As we've already reported, there's much talk today not only about the tax deal that President Obama and Congressional Republicans reached earlier this week -- but also about his hope ( as he told Morning Edition's Steve Inskeep) that the tax system can be simplified.
Also already happening today: the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Oslo. Chinese democracy activist Liu Xiaobo, the honoree, will be represented by an empty chair. He's been jailed by Chinese authorities.
