This Is Quazy: 'Aflac Duck' Search Goes National

There's word today that not only can you apply online to be the next voice of the Aflac duck, but you can also try to get into one of the casting calls (shouldn't they be called "quacking calls?") that will be held next week in six cities.

Aflac's put all the details . The deadline to apply online (and you'll need to upload an audio audition of 30 seconds or less) is 11:59 p.m. PT on Friday, April 1. That's 2:59 a.m. ET on Saturday the 2nd.

Or you could try to get an appointment to participate in the casting calls, which will be held on March 31 or April 1 in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

This is all necessary, you may recall, because comedian Gilbert Gottfried — who was the commercial voice of the insurance company's mascot — lost that job after he tweeted some offensive jokes related to the crisis in Japan.
