Colorado and the Federal Healthcare Challenge

KUNC

Colorado Attorney General John Suthers will be in the front row Monday when the U.S. Supreme Court hears oral arguments on the constitutionality of the federal healthcare law. Colorado is one of 26 states challenging the law.

KUNC’s State Capitol Reporter Bente Birkeland sat down with Suthers, a Republican, and the Democratic head of the state’s senate judiciary committee to talk about the case and what it means for Colorado.

Bente Birkeland has been reporting on state legislative issues for KUNC and Rocky Mountain Community Radio since 2006. Originally, from Minnesota, Bente likes to hike and ski in her spare time. She keeps track of state politics throughout the year but is especially busy during the annual legislative session from January through early May.
