A band that joyfully celebrates and preserves the heart of Americana music, David Wax Museum has quickly warmed the ears of thousands. David Wax and Suz Slezak bridges Mexican folk with country, Americana and rock. The release of their sophomore album, Carpenter Bird (2009), placed the group on everyone's radar, and with good reason. Named as Boston's Americana Artist of the Year at the 2010 Boston Music Awards, David Wax Museum has a style that uniquely explores a sophisticated range of textures, instruments and styles.

After years of tailoring their sound, Wax and Slezak now find themselves selling out shows and sharing the stage with bands such as The Avett Brothers and Langhorne Slim. Their third album, Everything Is Saved, was released in February.

This World Cafe segment originally aired March 8.
