Even with fewer teenagers actively looking for work this summer, unemployment among young people remains at just over 24 percent nationally. And that figure is very similar in Colorado. But one program is working to reverse that trend by offering highly specialized training to help teens compete in the adult job market.

Slow but Positive Job Growth in Colorado Expected for Rest of 2011

After news earlier this week that Colorado has seen slow but steady job growth, a CU economist says that trend will continue for the rest of the year. 

Colorado’s economy is projected to grow at a modest pace through the second half of the year.  And, according to University of Colorado Boulder Economist Richard Wobbekind, job growth will continue to be slow - but positive.

Murdoch's News Corp. Withdraws BSkyB Bid

Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. announced Wednesday that it has withdrawn its bid for BSkyB, a major U.K. broadcaster. Murdoch is embroiled in a phone hacking scandal involving the tabloid News of the World, which News Corp. shut down last week. Steve Inskeep talks about the announcement with NPR's David Folkenflik in London.
