SPCA Benefits From Maryland Bar's 'No Cuss Bucket'

The owners of the Mount Royal Tavern in Baltimore, Md., decided they'd heard enough profanity so they instituted a no cuss bucket. Customers have to pay 25 cents per bad word. Bartenders must pay $1 per profanity. The bar collected $110 in just three weeks which it donated to the SPCA.

Advocates Try Again To Legalize Gay Marriage In N.Y.

Gay marriage advocates in New York are preparing another effort at persuading the state legislature to approve same-sex marriage. Recent polls show that a majority of New Yorkers support same-sex marriage. A similar bill failed a year and a half ago.
