Voters Size Up Ron Paul In The N.H. Town Where His Campaign Began

Texas Rep. Ron Paul picked Exeter, a town of about 14,000 in southeastern New Hampshire, to announce his presidential run in May.

So when NPR photographer John Poole and I arrived in New Hampshire today in advance of the state's GOP primary next week, we decided to stop by this quintessential New England town and see how Paul is faring.

We headed to Me & Ollie's Bakery and Café, in the shadow of the Exeter Town Hall, where Paul officially announced his third run for the presidency.

Iowa's Cold Doesn't Stop Campaigns From Heating Up Ahead Of Caucuses

Blustery winds and freezing cold temperatures today didn't slow down the Republican presidential candidates' campaigning on the eve of the Iowa caucuses.

Six GOP candidates — most with family members in tow — shook voters' hands and made their final arguments.

Here's a look at what our reporters are finding on the campaign trail:

Most GOP Candidates Begin 2012 Where They Spent Lots Of Time In 2011: In Iowa

Most of the Republican presidential candidates are stumping in Iowa on this last Sunday before the state's caucuses.

The only major contenders not in the state are Rep. Ron Paul, who is spending New Year's Day at home in Texas but returning to Iowa for several events Monday, and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman, who remains ensconced in New Hampshire, where the scene shifts after Tuesday night.
