'Financial Times' Misspells Rupert Murdoch's Name

STEVE INSKEEP, host:

Good morning. I'm Steve Inskeep.

There's an old saying: I don't care what the press says about me so long as they spell my name right. For Rupert Murdoch the Financial Times did not. His name ends C-H, but the newspaperspelled it C-K on page one. Granted, the mistake is easy miss since it's next to a giant unflattering photo of Rupert Murdoch. We do not know how the FT misspelled the name. Apparently they failed to check it by simply hacking into Murdoch's private records.

It's MORNING EDITION. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
