Boulder Film Fest Adds Fort Collins Dates

More than 24,000 people attended last year's Boulder International Film Festival.

The Boulder International Film Festival is expanding to Fort Collins.

The four-day event will add screenings to Lincoln Center’s 1180-seat performance hall. It’s not the first time the festival has crossed into other cities. Three years ago organizers began hosting events in Longmont.

Festival director Kathy Beeck said more locations could be in the festival’s future.

“We grow pretty slowly around here,” Beeck said. “We don’t do things too big, too fast, too soon. We’ll see how it goes in Fort Collins, and we’ll take it from there.”

This year’s line-up will feature a music theme, she added. It’s one of the reasons Fort Collins seemed like a natural fit.

“It has a great music scene and we just think it’s perfect for these types of films,” Beeck said.

Film schedules will be announced in early February. The 15th annual festival is Feb. 28 through March 3. The Fort Collins screenings will be held March 8 and 9.

Last year more than 25,000 people attended the festival.
