Do you have any unwanted, unused, or expired prescriptions? Coloradans can drop off those drugs between 10 and 2 Saturday.

The event is part of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

Law enforcement advises against flushing medications down the toilet or throwing them in the trash as they can pollute lakes, streams and water supplies or pose potential safety and health hazards.

Last September’s Drug Take-Back Day collected more than 488,395 pounds of prescription drugs at sites across the country.

At the events end, all drug collected are turned over to the DEA for proper disposal.
