Missy Raines And The New Hip: Live @ Swallow Hill

Compass Records
Missy Raines

For the person looking for music that moves the emotion and breaks barriers between musical genres Missy Raines and the New Hip push the envelope.

Within the intimate setting of Swallow Hill the MissyRaines show becomes quite the experience.

The band is a perfect anachronism in contemporary society because of their strong basis in bluegrass, jazz, and blues and their effortless ability to play current styles. The deep jazzy sound of Missy Raines’ voice glides over the acoustic resonance of her immense bass and string ensemble. Their Swallow Hill session, recorded June 27th 2012, includes backing from Josh Fox, Gerald Walker, and Ethan Ballinger.

BreOnna Tindall is an intern in the KUNC newsroom from the University of Northern Colorado. This performance originally aired March 2, 2013 and was recorded at Swallow Hill Music June 27th, 2012.
