Denver-based hip-hop group Flobots and Mexican acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela will headline the 2015 Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest.
The popular three-day festival in Fort Collins will kick off Friday, Aug. 14 with local favorites Flobots, best known for their breakout hit “Handlebars.” And the event will wrap up Aug. 16th with international flair from Rodrigo y Gabriela. The duo, influenced by a number of genres including nuevo flamenco, rock and heavy metal, is slated to perform a set of original songs as well as covers from bands like Led Zeppelin and Metallica.
The Saturday headlining act is still a mystery. [see update below. - ed] Officials with NewWestFest say they’ll announce the Aug. 15th headliner in late July.
Held on multiple stages throughout the streets of Downtown Fort Collins, the free festival will also feature live music from more than 70 Colorado acts, including Danielle Ate the Sandwich, Pandas & People, and The Burroughs.
Update 07.23.2015: The Steve Miller Band will headline the Aug. 15 night of Bohemian Nights at NewWestFest's Mountain Avenue Stage. The show also will be simulcast on the Library Park Stage.
