Capitol Conversation: Colorado Civil Unions

KUNC

A bill to allow civil unions in Colorado is poised for a showdown in the Republican controlled house in the final days of the state’s legislative session. The measure narrowly cleared two Republican house committees by one vote, last week, and still faces one more committee hearing before it can head to the full floor for debate. KUNC’s Bente Birkeland discusses the politics behind the measure as part of our capitol conversation series.

Bente Birkeland has been reporting on state legislative issues for KUNC and Rocky Mountain Community Radio since 2006. Originally, from Minnesota, Bente likes to hike and ski in her spare time. She keeps track of state politics throughout the year but is especially busy during the annual legislative session from January through early May.
