For a week, our attention has focused on the role of the police after the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.

Officer Derek Chavin has been charged with murder and manslaughter. But pressure to charge three other officers on the scene is growing.

And in a speech on Monday night, President Donald Trump said if state officials can’t contain the violence, he would deploy the U.S. military. “If a city or state refuses to take the actions necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them,” the president said.
