Denver-based band Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats is expanding its brand beyond the stage. The band is launching a special edition cannabis collection under Willie’s Reserve, a cannabis brand owned by country legend Willie Nelson.

For the first offering in the group’s “Nightstache Collection,” the group worked with AJ’s Craft Cannabis out of Boone, Colorado. The collaboration will feature the strain AJ’s Cherry AK.

But the launch is about more than just adding their name to a product line.

In a press release, Rateliff said they will continue to advocate for “a more diverse, equitable and inclusive industry.” The singer also wants to focus on bringing restorative justice to those still imprisoned for marijuana-related offenses, even though recreational marijuana has been legal since 2012.

The band struck up a friendship with Willie Nelson several years ago at Farm Aid. They have worked with Nelson to bring attention to the positive impacts of legalization on local economies, as well as opportunities in agriculture.

Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats will play two sold-out nights at Red Rocks this Wednesday and Thursday. The band will also tour through September including a performance with Nelson in New York on September 11.
