KUNC's Colorado Edition: Pot Shops In Longmont; Science Meets Theater

Luke Runyon

On this week's Colorado Edition, a look at the budding pot shop business in Longmont, where four shops are scheduled to open this year. There's fierce competition among dispensaries to grab one of the coveted spots.

Then, we find a convergence of science and theater over the importance of soil in "Dirt: A Terra Nova Expedition." The play runs through May 6 at Bas Bleu Theatre in Fort Collins.

KUNC and partner Harvest Public Media explore the increasing demand for halal — food prepared according to Islamic religious custom. It's becoming an increasingly part of the American diet and consumers probably don't realize it.

Boulder is looking at a new ordinance that would ban the sale and possession of certain "assault weapons," bump stocks and high capacity magazines. We talk with Boulder city attorney Tom Carr.

Film critic Howie Movshovitz reviews "Oh, Lucy." He says it's genuinely original and surprising — and doesn't prepare you for how it all might end.

Finally, we look at what makes us love and loathe spring cleaning. The answer is surprisingly simple, once you learn a simple fact about brain chemistry.
