Florida A&M University suspended its dance club after getting an allegation of hazing that occurred over the weekend. FAMU is still dealing with controversy over the hazing death of university band member Robert Champion.

Robert Champion was subjected to suffocation then pummeled with hands and drumsticks in a hazing ritual.

The school's Marching 100 band has been marred by a hazing scandal.

The letter came on the day that the embattled band director announced his retirement.

The Dekalb County School System said it was halting all marching band activity pending an investigation into "inappropriate activities." Some of the students involved in the hazing scandal at FAMU, are also alums of the Georgia district.

Julian White was fired as head of the prestigious program after the hazing-related death of his drum major. White says if university officials had heeded his warnings, Robert Champion may still be alive.
