People on all sides of the debate are watching Florida Sen. Marco Rubio attempt to craft a proposal that helps to repair the GOP brand among Hispanics, appeals to independent voters who favor a path to citizenship, and upends President Obama's advantage on the issue without alienating conservatives.

Mitt Romney sweeps five primaries and all but locks up the GOP nomination. Even Newt Gingrich agrees Romney will be the nominee. More veepstakes speculation on Sens. Marco Rubio and Rob Portman. Two centrist House Democrats fall in Pa., while Utah GOP Sen. Orrin Hatch lives to fight another day.

Monday was the first time GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, often talked about as a vice presidential pick, have campaigned together. But Romney said the process of choosing his running mate has barely gotten started.

As his national profile has risen, the first-term senator from Florida has become a target for Democrats and advocacy groups who say he doesn't represent Latino voters. In Miami last week, a dozen young Hispanic men and women gathered outside Rubio's office chanting, "Rubio: Latino or Tea Partino?"
