Police in Ohio have discovered three bodies wrapped in plastic in a Cleveland suburb.
East Cleveland Mayor Gary Norton said late Saturday that the bodies had been discovered about 100 to 200 yards apart and that a 35-year-old man – a registered sex offender who served prison time — had been arrested as a suspect in all three deaths. Authorities were searching for more bodies on Sunday, Norton told The Associated Press in an interview.
Greg Van Niel is a Cleveland Indians season-ticket holder. But curiously, he wasn't sitting in his usual seat when he grabbed four foul balls at Sunday's game at Progressive Field against the Kansas City Royals.
He accomplished his feat by the fifth inning while sitting in Row FF, Section 160, Seat 3.
"Three of them were catches, and one was a ball I picked up off the ground," Van Niel told the team, according to tribevibe on mlblogs.com.
Ariel Castro, the man accused of kidnapping and raping three women while he held them prisoner in his house for about 10 years, has been declared mentally competent to stand trial. The finding comes one week after a Cleveland judge ordered Castro to undergo an evaluation.
The results of that analysis were presented at a court hearing this morning.
