Loveland Awaits ACE Announcement

city of Loveland

Loveland officials are anxiously awaiting word on whether the Colorado Association of Manufacturing and Technology will choose their city to be the site of a new technology park.

The city is one of five contenders to submit a proposal for the new Aerospace and Clean Energy Park, in which NASA will also play a part. Loveland has proposed using a vacant 800,000 square foot property that was once home to Agilent Technologies and Hewlett-Packard . The announcement could bring more than a thousand jobs to the area.

While officials are optimistic, they’re also starting to develop contingency plans.

“We have five developers whom we have interviewed in an open selection process and all five of those say they’d like to participate in a project even if ACE doesn’t come to Loveland,” said City Manager Bill Cahill.

Under either scenario, the city would purchase the property from Agilent and transfer it to a new owner once it’s identified.

The Colorado Association of Manufacturing and Technology was expected to make an announcement in mid March. But that’s been postponed, and there’s no word on when the organization will make known its plans.
