Kansas Governor Laura Kelly (D) during her victory speech in November 2018.

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly won a court battle this weekend over the Republican-led Kansas legislature. GOP lawmakers voted to override the Democratic governor’s executive order limiting the size of religious gatherings that aimed to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
