Crowds of Spider Men and Wonder Women descended upon the Colorado Convention Center on Friday for the first day of the seventh annual Denver Comic Con.
Fans began lining up early to attend panels, meet celebrities and show off their best cosplay costumes. Organizers said they expect more than 100,000 attendees for the three-day event celebrating comic books, TV shows and movies.
The annual convention is a fundraiser for the Pop Culture Classroom. The year-round education program uses popular culture and self-expression to ignite a love of learning in children and increase literacy.
