Three CO Sears, Kmart Stores to Close Due to Disappointing Holiday Season

Creative Commons

Three Colorado Sears and Kmart stores will close in the coming year due to lackluster sales. The move could impact as many as 240 employees.

Earlier this week Sears Holdings Corp., which also oversees Kmart and Land’s End brands, announced plans to shutter between 100 and 120 stores due to meager holiday sales.

Today the company released a partial list of closures, which include two Kmarts in Broomfield and Glenwood Springs in addition to a full-line Sears store in Longmont.

While Sears Holdings said it can’t provide the total number of impacted employees, it did say that stores typically employ between 40 to 80 people.

There is no exact closing date for the stores.
