Xerox Plans to Open Call Center in Greeley

The decision to come to Greeley means the creation of 700 permanent and temporary jobs. Xerox would be operating the call center on behalf of one of their clients.

Greeley Mayor Tom Norton told the Northern Colorado Business Report that the call center will contribute "millions of dollars in payroll impact that will create a positive impression on the economy of Greeley and Northern Colorado."

The new call center is expected to be operational by July 2nd. The move by Xerox backs up comments made by the CEO in regard to American companies and American jobs.

During an interview with NPR’s Renee Montagne on Morning Edition, May 23rd, CEO Ursula Burns said her company has a responsibility to American workers.

"I think that Xerox, as an American company, has a responsibility to have jobs in the U.S. But we also have a huge business in the U.K.; I have a responsibility to have jobs in the U.K. I have a growing business in India; I have a responsibility to have jobs in India. I have a big business in Russia. ... So, I don't look at is as myopically or as single-focused as providing jobs in the U.S. only. "I think that because we are here, I will bring back jobs, we do bring back jobs, we bring jobs into the United States, as long as the U.S. can continue to be competitive. And we can. We are an innovative group of people in the United States, and we can be competitive in both cost but also in quality and ... innovativeness."

TeleTech Opens Call Center in February

As reported by KUNC in January, Englewood, CO-based customer-service Company TeleTech Holdings Inc. also chose Greeley to open a state-of-the-art call center. TeleTech Chairman and CEO Ken Tuchman said the facility would initially employ 500 people and that up to 500 more could be hired on “sooner versus later.”
