Boulder Debates Making Pearl Street Mall A No-Smoking Zone

Downtown Boulder

The City of Boulder is considering a proposal to ban smoking along the four blocks of the Pearl Street Mall. An open house to give the public more details is scheduled for Wednesday. The open house will be held Wednesday Sept.26, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Municipal Building lobby, 1777 Broadway.

The city says the proposal was crafted in response to complaints from tourists, downtown employees, restaurant owners and retail businesses about cigarette-butt litter and secondhand smoke.
