Voter Guide: Colorado’s June Democratic Primary
Ballots for Colorado’s June 30 primary are arriving mailboxes this week. In the U.S. Senate race, Democrats are choosing between John Hickenlooper and Andrew Romanoff. The winner will take on Republican Senator Cory Gardner in November. We spoke to both candidates to get their stance on a variety of issues.
How To Talk To Children About Racism
To get advice on how to talk to children about racism, we spoke with Dr. Brandi Freeman. She is a pediatrician at Children’s Hospital Colorado and director of diversity and inclusion for the department of pediatrics at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Artists Speak With Their Work
George Floyd was laid to rest in Houston on Tuesday. Floyd died after a Minneapolis police officer held a knee to his neck while he was handcuffed. His death has sparked a worldwide movement against police brutality and racism. Some are using protests and marches to spread the word. In Denver, some artists are using this time to speak with their work. KUNC arts reporter Stacy Nick has more.
The Latest Guidance On Religious Gatherings
Colorado public health officials have issued guidance on how places of worship can begin to re-open, in a way that would limit the spread of COVID-19. To get more information on what this will look like, Erin O’Toole spoke with Reverend Amanda Henderson, the executive director of the Interfaith Alliance of Colorado.
