Today on Colorado Edition: we’ll get the latest on state lawmakers' reactions to the protests in Denver. And, we'll hear the first in a series about water investment in the West, and we’ll listen to an investigation into outbreaks at nursing homes.

Water Investment In The West

The Colorado River has a big gap between water supplies and demands. In some Western farm communities, private investors, who see the increasing scarcity as a money-making opportunity, are showing up with their checkbooks. But not without pushback. In the first of a series on water investment in the West, Luke Runyon from KUNC, and Heather Sackett from Aspen Journalism have more from Colorado’s Grand Valley

COVID-19 Nursing Home Outbreaks

So far during the coronavirus pandemic, the most dangerous place to be is in a nursing home. Outbreaks at some jails and meat plants have been larger in Colorado, but when there’s an outbreak at a nursing home, people are more likely to die. It’s still not clear to health officials why this is, but there are some clues — including a lack of masks, gowns and gloves. KUNC investigative reporter Michael de Yoanna has more.
