Get Involved: The Inn Between of Longmont, Inc.

The Inn Between

As The Inn Beween of Longmont’s Executive Director David Bitler says, “Everybody needs a home.”
With 67 housing units, the mission of The Inn Between is to provide supportive housing promoting self-sufficiency and stability to diverse homeless families and individuals through collaboration with community partners, utilization of community resources, case management and life-skills training. Case Managers work with residents to identify the needs of the individual while establishing a trusting relationship and gradually engaging the client into comprehensive services.

The organization believes that education is the key to improving self-sufficiency and preventing homelessness. Training for residents includes life skills, job readiness, financial management, effective communication, nutrition and resume workshops.

About 260 people a year are served by The Inn Between, including 108 children. Their on-site Education Center Program provides a positive, healthy setting for the children living there. They receive after-school enrichment and tutoring including, homework assistance, one-on-one tutoring, and healthy after school snacks.

Development Director Beryl Durazo says that volunteers can assist in the office and also with property maintenance. This helps free other staff members to work with residents.
