Loveland Youth Gardeners offers Youth Education Programs focusing on at-risk and special needs students in the Loveland community. Executive Director Alyssa McConkey says that “through gardening the organization cultivates important job and life skills and community engagement in youth facing extra challenges.”

Get Involved is a monthly series highlighting area nonprofits. KUNC believes that through volunteering, we can help build stronger communities.

Instructor Holly Bandong says that “students take ownership not just for the garden they tend but also for the community they live in.”

Volunteers are involved in a wide variety of activities including working directly with students, outreach, building, maintenance and gardening.
