‘Ideas Worth Spreading’ Come to CSU, Fort Collins

TEDx

A one-day conference centered on the theme of “growing greener generations” kicks off in Fort Collins later today.

The event is an extension of TED, a nonprofit promoting “ideas worth spreading”.

Speaker Stephanie Barr with Colorado State University’s Institute for the Built Environment will focus on environmental themes in the K-12 school environment.

She says reform movements from healthier school lunches to building more energy efficient buildings for students have an overarching theme.

“All of these calls for reform can be rallied under the umbrella of sustainability,” she says. “If we can unify our voices then we can accomplish more because it’s all interwoven.”

Other speakers at today’s event include CSU Professor Temple Grandin and former Governor Bill Ritter.

The event kicks offat the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins at 2 p.m.
