Recently, Nextar Media announced that it plans to purchase Tegna for 6.2-billion dollars. The move would see FOX 31’s owner buying its rival, Denver’s 9News. The deal is expected to wrap up sometime in the second half of next year. The move has angered Colorado Democrats, worried the consolidation will weaken the state’s civic infrastructure.
