Cars lined up for drive-through COVID-19 testing at the Denver Coliseum on Saturday, March 14, 2020.

Today on Colorado Edition: Why Colorado is behind other states in the Mountain West on COVID-19 testing. Plus, we’ll learn about disparities in Colorado’s reading curriculum. We also speak with a photographer who’s documenting life during a pandemic, and hear about the challenges of co-parenting at this time.

COVID-19 Testing In The Mountain West

Testing is considered a major requirement on the path to getting back to normal, and the president says that responsibility belongs to the states. Are Mountain West states like Colorado up to the task? KUNC’s Rae Ellen Bichell reports.

Disparities In Colorado’s Reading Curriculum

Ann Schimke, a reporter for Chalkbeat Colorado, found that certain school districts in Colorado are using inconsistent and sometimes even discredited approaches to teach reading. She joined us to explore what she found.

Photographing A Pandemic

Woody Myers, a photographer for the University of Northern Colorado, has been photographing life around Greeley during the coronavirus pandemic. He joined us to discuss what he’s been seeing.

Co-Parenting During The Coronavirus Pandemic

Over the last few weeks we’ve been answering questions around COVID-19. One listener wanted to know about recommendations for parenting right now if you are separated or divorced. Nate Hegyi, a reporter for the Mountain West News Bureau, reached out to both a family law attorney and some folks that are navigating the issue.
