Arapahoe Basin Ski Area announced this past weekend that its ski season will be extended for an extra weekend, until Sunday, May 17.

Keystone will close Sunday, April 5, with closing weekend events April 4-5.

The new weather stations map includes stations operated by the CAIC, ski areas, the SNOTEL network and CDOT.

Following the shutdown of the federal government last week, government websites began featuring banners at the top of their websites noting the government's status and a slowing of updates.

A healthy stream of snowstorms starting in late-October helped build and maintain snowpack levels above the historic average until mid-April, when unseasonably warm weather and a lack of storms caused the snowpack to deplete and drop below normal ahead of the date when levels typically peak.

Snowpack levels in Summit County remain above normal, outpacing the past five seasons.
