Hail is the biggest driver of insurance hikes. It means price increases are being felt across the state — not just in the mountains but also in the suburbs.

The cost of feeding and caring for our pets has dramatically increased. That's hard to stomach with Colorado's high cost of living. But the guilt of not caring for these animals remains.

Many business groups are already lobbying against the measures. Gov. Jared Polis, as well as more moderate Democrats at the Capitol, could pose a roadblock to the bills becoming law, too.

Congress returns in early January, and members of Colorado’s congressional delegation each have their own priorities for the new year.
