The blue tsunami of the midterm elections nationally was felt here in Colorado; the potential of a 7-to-1 congressional map, while virtually all statewide races remain in the hands of Democrats. The state legislature is also now a supermajority for the Democrats.

Jessica Killin pulled off the unthinkable. She defeated incumbent Republican Rep. Jeff Crank to become the first Democrat to represent Colorado’s 5th Congressional District.

Democrat Jessica Killin’s campaign paid for a poll showing her within just 1 percentage point of Republican U.S. Rep. Jeff Crank, with 11% of the electorate undecided.

Incumbents, for the most part, outraised challengers, putting them in a good position to defend their seats.
