Colorado State University has a logging sports club, and some events directly transfer to skills needed for forestry jobs. That’s all the more crucial as the state looks for workers to help fight a massive pine beetle outbreak.

A University of Utah study used data from wildfires in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California to look at how private forests for industrial timber harvest were impacted by severe fire weather, brought about by climate change.

But a lot of industry representatives aren’t happy with portions of the law.
