Recently President Obama gave Colorado and other states the green light to scrap the No Child Left Behind Law. Passed in 2002 to widespread bipartisan support it made schools accountable for the performance of all students. A federal judge is weighing whether a lawsuit against the Tax Payers Bill of Rights should move forward. Plaintiffs are suing the state, saying TABOR violates the U.S. constitution because it strips the state legislature of its power to tax. But Colorado is defending TABOR and filed a motion asking the judge to dismiss the lawsuit.
