Colorado is running difficulties with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP. It’s now one of the slowest states in the nation to fulfill food assistance requests. Jennifer Brown with The Colorado Sun reports the technology the state program uses is a major stumbling block.

Colorado promises $70 million over 3 years, hopes to see 12 new facility schools open

Carla Respects Nothing, from the Oglala Lakota Tribe in South Dakota, is a housing consultant for the Native American Housing Circle. Respects Nothing, who was once homeless, hopes to see a space for cultural reunification as part of the Housing Circle’s efforts to create affordable housing opportunities for Native American people in the Denver metro. “For the treaty tribes and the ones that were massacred, I just kind of want to honor their people — It’s sad for them to have to leave their homelands,” Respects Nothing said. “But we’re still here.”
