Ryan has worked for Community Radio For Northern Colorado since 2008, and in that time has served in several different roles. As Operations Manager, he is focused on daily programming logistics, fundraising, promotions, and select special projects and events. He lives in Fort Collins with a husband, cat, and 4 chickens. His favorite shows on KUNC & The Colorado Sound are Reveal, This American Life, Music 101, Latino U.S.A, 1A, and On The Media.

Rachael Dhakal and Andrew Milbauer are both are high school teachers in Fort Collins. Rachael, a black woman, and Andrew, a gay man, came to the StoryCorps Mobile Booth in Fort Collins for a wide-ranging conversation about embracing their differences and negotiating their identities and careers in a majority-white, straight environment.

Liz Barnez and Lori Daigle came to tell the story of their remarkable relationship. After falling for each other as teenagers in New Orleans, they fell out of touch for years, until a chance encounter on Facebook brought them back together.

Sara Frazier came to record memories for her two daughters, Amy and Jenny. Sara was interviewed by her younger daughter, Jenny Sundstedt, about her life on the plains of Colorado and Kansas, and her late husband, Jimmie Frazier.

Tony Shiver came to the booth to remember his husband, Landon Padgett. After Landon died in September of 2016, Tony relocated from Atlanta to Denver. He was interviewed by his friend, James Thacker, about love, loss and starting over.

An annual road trip turns into a magical winter wonderland. An ice-breaker on the first day of a new job inspires a life-changing journey with Turkish beekeepers. A short hike becomes a fight for survival. On January 17th, Colorado storytellers from all walks of life came together for "Snow Day: A KUNC Storytelling Event" at Wolverine Farm Publick House in Fort Collins. Hosted by Luke Runyon, four preselected speakers and one Wild Card audience member told their stories on one theme.

The event will showcase community storytellers sharing stories about time on the trail, on top of mountain or deep in the woods. We've invited a handful of storytellers -- writers, poets, performers, journalists, speakers -- to prepare true, personal stories and share them in front of a live audience.
