Measure 301 Passes: Marijuana Dispensaries Reinstated in Fort Collins

Fort Collins voters have repealed a ban on marijuana dispensaries in the city.

Measure 301 passed with 55% supporting and 45% opposed (as reported near midnight).

The dispensary ban narrowly passed last year with many critics claiming that a larger election would produce different results.

With the passage of measure 301, dispensaries will be prohibited within 500 feet of a church, child-care center or recreation site and within 1,000 feet of a school or playground. Measure 301 also establishes a local board to monitor the dispensaries. The number of dispensaries will be limited to one for every 500 registered medical marijuana patients.
